Dear Al, Bryan, Kevin, Todd and David,

I am so sorry to hear about Linda's passing. I was thinking about the summer cookouts and Christmas eve at my parents house. She will be missed.

The first time I met Linda, I knew, immediately, I would love her - not like, but love her - in the true sense of loving a person you could tell was kind, truly genuine, thoughtful and caring.

Yes, I knew, right away.

The first Christmas Linda and Al came to our house, they brought a gift to my husband and me. We had not thought ahead to have gotten a gift for them. But receiving was not in Linda's vocabulary - giving was all that mattered.

So, I came to learn, over a short period of time, how remarkable Linda truly was and I subsequently decided I could never have possessed the amazing qualities she exhibited during the last years of her life.

I could not have been as stalwart. I would not have had the ability to always make others feel at ease. And I could not have been so very, very brave.

I wish I had known Linda long before my daughter, Kathryn and Dave were married. But, I do know that during the short time I did have the privilege of knowing her that I learned the true meaning of love, honesty and true courage.

It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.

Dear Rufo family,
I am so sorry to hear about Linda. Her niece, Lindsey, shared some great memories about what a wonderful person Linda was and how much she meant to Lindsey. Wishing you all the best, as you find your strength during this tough time. Love, Nisha, Lindsey's best friend
