Jane was a very kind and thoughtful person whose spirit was always very positive and uplifting. May her memory serve as inspiration to those fortunate to have known her.

We were saddened to hear of Jane's death. We very much enjoyed her great personality and appreciated her diligent work volunteering for our Boston Harbor monitoring program. She will be missed.

Through the years, I enjoyed meeting and getting to know Jane at home in Reading, as the mother of my former student Thom, a student of stained glass at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. In September, Jane, Thom and I shared a few days together that were unusually serene: first at the Whaling Museum in New Bedford where we spoke of many things including her deep appreciation of Frederick Douglas, a luminary of this port city. Another day, we enjoyed a day boat tour with Thom from Onset, we floated on the Cape Cod Canal and enjoyed lunch outside in Onset and afterwards explored this Victorian Era summer resort for Spiritualist movement. Thom was fortunate to have such a spirited, intelligent and open mother as I knew Jane. It was a privilege to know her.
