We love you dad

Please enjoy this song my daughter Holly performed at the ceremony. It's a beautiful tribute. https://soundcloud.com/michaelbourque/home-to-you

Today was a great ceremony of my dad's life. We celebrated his love and devotion to family, friends, and tradition. Lots of people reminded us their fond memories. It was very inspiring to feel such a strong sense of love and support all around. There were posters full with hundreds of photos. A video montage with some of my music. My sister wrote and read a beautiful eulogy about his life from birth, to the army and atomic veteran, and how he'd met mom at a square dance.

I spoke about what it was like to be his son, how he taught me to fix things. How he loved us all to the end. I introduced my daughter Holly who sang a beautiful song about going home on guitar while we all cried. We then proceeded to the cemetery, stopping by his house along the way to place a single rose on his car in the driveway. It was a very nice service. My son Jonathan and I were pallbearers. An army bugle horn in the distance, and a very animated way of folding the flag. We each put a rose on his casket and prayed.

Afterwards we treated everyone to rappie pie at a nearby restaurant. I think it was perfect. So many stories I heard. So much more to remember him by. We miss you dad. Rest In Peace.

I have known John my whole life. He always had a nice thing to say to me every time I would come over. He was a wonderful man and he will be missed. My thoughts are with you all at this sad time.

Dear Aunt Betty, Stephen, Nancy, Michelle, Michael, and family --

I am so sorry to learn of Uncle Harold's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of Uncle Harold while growing up -- his love of life, his story telling, and his gift of making others laugh -- will stay with me all the days of my life. May God hold you all comfortingly in the palm of His hand during this difficult time.

With sympathy and love,
Diane (Sullivan) Mahan

Nancy,Stephen, Michele and Michael, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your dad had a contagious smile that brighten my day when I had the pleasure of seeing him from time to time, whether it was at a grocery store or at a doctors office! We would strike up a conversation and talk as though we were sitting at the kitchen table having a cup of tea, forgetting where we were and he would tell me all the latest news about his children and grandchildren. When he spoke of any of one of you he had a twinkle in his eye and smile grew bigger! Although I didn't see them often enough I have and will always admire and love him and your mom. I am so lucky to have such wonderful memories of him. May you found some comfort in your own memories today, tomorrow and every day. God bless. Cousin Judie Jamieson.
