Tribute & Message From The Family

Catherine M. Kelly, of Boston, passed away on Tuesday Feb. 27, 2018. She was 91 years of age. Beloved daughter of the late William and Annie (Gallagher) Kelly. Loving sister of James Kelly and the late William Kelly, Thomas Kelly, Theresa Kelly and Barbara Thursby. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

For much of her career, Catherine was proud to be an executive secretary and professional assistant, through the years with the International Institute of Boston, Crane Plumbing and Heating and Harvard Medical School. Her real love however, second only to family, was travel. She traveled for both work and pleasure including to Ireland, England, Hungary, France, Egypt, and Canada. Throughout her career she worked with her late, longtime friend and business partner, Carl Lugwig at Ludwig Travel Service, Auburndale, MA. She later continued this passion by running K & L Tours, initially with her business partner then as a sole proprietor, leading bus trips all over the east coast, including Washington D.C., New York City and New Hampshire. For the last 30 plus years K & L Tours has lead bus trips to Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Saturday March 3, 2018 at the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM from 10am to 12pm followed by a Funeral Service Celebrating Catherine's Eternal Life at 12pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants and elevator available. Interment will be private.

My Friend Ms Kelly..... I will miss her so much and our wonderful conversation.
I have know her for 14 years living at her Huntington Ave apartment. I took care of all her needs and did it happily.

I am sorry to hear of Kay's passing. She was a gracious, charming woman. I particularly loved her commentary on our bus trips to Tanglewood. I will miss her.
