Tribute & Message From The Family
Lawrence "Larry" Jordan, 64, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 24, 2019 en route to Lahey Hospital in Burlington Massachusetts. He was born March 27 1955, to the late Thelma and Raymond Jordan.
A graduate of Reading Memorial High School, Larry is survived by his brother, William Jordan, and sister-in-law Patricia Jordan, of Reading, Massachusetts along with his nephew Shane Gerardi, and nieces, Colleen Shelton, Meaghan Allen and Kelli Jordan. Larry cared very much for his grand-nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Morgan, Grace, Cameron, Hayley, Zoey, Kylee and Nicholas.
Larry truly lived his life to the fullest; always chatting with friends and family, watching movies, reading, but most of all spending time with his young grand nieces and nephews, who remember him most for introducing them to the joys of IBC Root Beer and Ginger Ale, along with always having special snacks and a selection of kids movies to relax and enjoy when they came to visit.
Family, friends and others whose lives Larry touched are invited to the DOHERTY - BARILE FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11 Linden St, Reading MA 01867 from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday May 30, 2019 to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat. Parking attendants and elevator are available.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations in Lawrence's memory to JDRF 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
Condolence & Memory Journal
I met Larry in the spring of 1988 during my first "real" job at Addison Wesley. I was only 20 then and he was one of a few very that actually took the time to help out and make sure I was getting along. We became friends after that, he was a groomsman at my wedding, he helped look over our two children and I considered part of my goofy extended family. Some of the best times of my early adulthood were just catching a movie with him, grabbing a beer at the local 99's, meeting for lunch at a mall or just talking about the random, obscure and lesser-known parts of life. He was one of the best people I've ever known, a kind and gentle soul with a razor sharp wit and a dark sense of humor. He loved, loved, loved a good vampire story and I can't help but feel that he's still with us in the night sky. I'm a better person for knowing you, old buddy, and keep that reading lamp lit for when we meet again.

I stumbled upon Larry's obituary while looking for another one. I remember Larry very well from his years at Addison-Wesley. He was always the most pleasant person and very well liked. May he rest in peace.

I'm sorry for the loss of your loved one. My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
