Tribute & Message From The Family

Donna L. (Staffier) Sarmanian, of Stoneham, formerly of Revere, passed away on Tuesday July 30th, 2019 surrounded by her family after an incredibly courageous battle with cancer. She was 65 years of age.

Donna is the beloved wife of Michael Sarmanian. She is the proud mother of Jena Sarmanian, Lara Roche and her husband Kenneth, and Michael Sarmanian. Cherished "Ninnie" of Paige and Caroline Roche. Donna is the loving daughter of the late Victor and Victoria (Angelo) Staffier. An extraordinary woman, beautiful inside and out, and an amazing friend to countless others.

Donna loved many things in life. She was an avid Boston Celtics fan and a Jeopardy fanatic, always knowing the answers to more questions than you. She enjoyed reading a good book at her happy place, the screen porch of her summer home in Sagamore Beach. If you knew her, she had likely given you a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear and most certainly good advice in return. She loved soft serve "twists," trying out the newest restaurants around town and spending a long weekend in Fort Lauderdale. She was the happiest surrounded by those she loved, especially her granddaughters who brought her an incredible amount of joy.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM Saturday August 3, 2019 at 8:45 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Donna's Eternal Life in St. Joseph Church 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 10 am. Interment will be Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Friday August 2, 2019 from 3 pm to 7 pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants and elevator available.

I am so sad to read of Donna's passing. When I was a third grade teacher in Medford, Donna was the speech teacher. We became very friendly over the years and would often run into each other in Stoneham. I also would see her at St Joseph's Church in Wakefield from time to time. Donna was a wonderful person! She was caring and kind to all who she met and would always take the time to listen to anyone, no matter what the topic. She was an excellent speech teacher and the children loved her. Rest In Peace Donna. You are now in the arms of God for all of the good that you did while on this earth.

I was lucky and blessed to have you as my friend. You were there when I needed you the most. There are so many words I can use to describe you but none seem to capture you. You were true, honest, caring, trustful, loyal and loving. The strength and courage you showed these past years were an amazement. I will miss our talks, our laughing and those Wednesday's talking about Animal Kingdom. Our friendship is one I will treasure. I will carry you in my heart everyday, you are unforgettable. I love you and I will miss you.
