David attended Fitchburg State University and obtained a Masters degree in English in 1972. David later pursued a career as a waiter/host at La Summa Restaurant in the North End of Boston where he enjoyed working for over 30 years.

After 16 years of devoted friendship, David married his husband Matildo (Gabriel) Miguel Martins of Governador Valadares, Brazil in Boston on January 21, 2015. David and Gabriel enjoyed traveling, music and being in each other's company. David was predeceased by his parents. Surviving, in addition to his loving spouse Gabriel, are his brother Michael S. Condolence & Memory Journal

My condolences to the whole family. I was one of David's students at St. Anthony's and he also lived in the apartment above our home for a short time. He was very kind to my mother who recently passed away last year. Another coincidence is that my husband also had him as a teacher in Southboro. He will always be thought of with fond memories.

Mr. Seymour was one of my grammar school teachers. The one thing I've taken from all those years is a saying he used, "Show respect and be respected." God bless you Mr. Seymour.

Bob and I are deeply saddened by the loss of David ! He was an all around nice guy... he cared so much for his friends and family . We had a friendship with him that spanned 43 years . David was a little outspoken BUT always for a very good reason. One time on a trip to P town we were going to a bar and I did not get my license till I was thirty five soooo... they carded me .. well at the time we were all middle age and they said we can all go in but me !!!! WELL David insisted that it was because of our ages and let them know in uncertain terms . Needless to say we all got in.. Thank you David . He knew what was right and would not Stand for what was wrong. David you will always be in our hears and prayers. What a good guy you are ! We love you and we will miss you . He certainly will go directly heaven and give them a hard time . Only kidding.Love you Dearly, Phil and Bob.
