Condolence & Memory Journal

Dear Carino Family, I am very sorry to hear about Jim passing. He was a very sweet, calm and kind person. He was a true Spartan. I coached with Jim for several years. My first coaching job was with Jim coaching Middle School Girls Basketball. He was so much fun to be with. Jim was very well known in Town and the Middlesex League. He touched many lives in a positive way. I hope your memories of him will make you smile. Again, very sorry.

Kathy, Ryan, Julia and Will, our prayers are lifted for you during this incredibly sad time. This was a beautiful tribute to a man who has touched so many lives. Jim will always hold a special place in our family's hearts. My parents, sisters and I loved Jim from the moment we met him back in the '80s, when he walked into our lives in Ocean City. He brought such joy, laughter and warmth to our shared family vacations, and we will hold these memories close always. May Jim rest in peace, and may you feel the comfort of his presence in your lives, as he will be watching over all of you and live in your hearts forever.

The Buckley Family is heartbroken over the loss of such a kind and caring man as Jimmy. We watched this morning's funeral Mass and it was beautiful. Ryan and Julia, you did a great job of highlighting the fun and the sensitive sides of your wonderful Dad. Our community was so blessed to have such a great role model for all our children. God bless Jimmy and his loving family, Kathy, Ryan, Julia and Will.

Sometime in the late 80's or early 90's, Jimmy decided I should sing "A Little Help From My Friends" in Carnival Ball, which I never would have done on my own! 10 or so years later, I left Stoneham, but still my favorite memories of all time include Jimmy. He was a very special man, and he will be sorely missed! Love to his family, holding you close in my heart.

To Jim's beloved family and friends -
The halls of Stoneham High School will never be the same. As a parent of three SHS grads, I made many trips to the school and I always looked forward to seeing his smile, hearing his laugh and his comments on life. Julia, you wrote a beautiful tribute to your dad and so much of it brought a smile to my face. Ryan you reminded me in many ways of your dad as you offered the eulogy, your delivery was perfect and all "Jim." I wish you all peace, comfort and beautiful memories filled with the joy your dad brought to so many throughout his life.

Coach Carino was a big part of my high school experience. The tennis court was where we connected most, but I'll always remember the room at the back of the library, bus rides to away matches, that famous carnival ball tape, and his presence on walks around my neighborhood. Jimmy was a fixture in Stoneham, and his personality was larger than life.

My heart breaks for the family he's left behind: at home, at school, and in the community. His spirit lives on in the hundreds of lives he touched. So very sorry for your loss.
