Tribute & Message From The Family

A Loving Wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend

Grace A. (Guarnotta) Ochs, of Stoneham, passed away on Friday June 25, 2021. She was 86 years of age.

Grace was born in Boston and raised in Dorchester. She was the youngest of five girls born to Mike and Mary Guarnotta. She graduated from Jeremiah E. Burke High School and got a job in the office at Beacon Chevrolet where she met and married Jack "Jake" Ochs. Living in the downstairs apartment from her parents, they had two children, Michael and Kathy.

Grace then worked at Ciro's photography studio while the kids were young. They bought their first house and moved to Stoneham in 1967. There she got involved with the Boy Scouts as a den mother and Pop Warner where she was a cheerleading coach. She got a job at Star Market as a cashier and then in the courtesy booth where she worked for over 15 years before retiring to help take care of her grandchildren.

Grace was well known for her incredible cooking and loved to entertain family and friends with her delicious homemade Italian dishes and baked goods. She loved to travel and enjoyed many vacations until her and Jake bought a condo in Boynton Beach, Florida where they would spend the winter months. After Jake died she would spend time with her dear companion Tony Staffiere, where the two of them would make even more fabulous meals together. Grace was always the kindest, warmest, most giving person. She had many many close friends and enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and her beautiful sisters most of all.

Grace was the beloved wife of the late Jack "Jake" Ochs. She was the loving mother of Michael Ochs and his wife Maureen and Kathleen LaPorte and her husband John Bjorklund. Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Elizabeth, Amanda, Melissa, Kevin, Kelly and Bryan and great grandmother of Jackson. Dear sister of Mary Ciroli and her late husband Mario, Janet Dennis and her late husband James, and the late Frances Bonanno and her late husband Dominic, and Anne Stanziani and her late husband Walter. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
