Joseph V. Tringali beloved husband of Marie (Simeone) Tringali of Cambridge, devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather, peacefully passed away on December 6, 2016. Born in Italy and raised in Medford. A Veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Tringali served his country proudly as a Sergeant in the US Army until his honorable discharge in 1953.
A successful self-employed businessman, he was a partner in the ownership of Rays Restaurant in Cambridge for over 30 years and owner of Giorgio's in Malden for 17 years. He was the patriarch of his family and loved spending time with all his children, grandchildren and great grandchild. He was a great man who always put family first. In his retirement years, his most joy came from attending his grandchildren's sporting events, activities and performances. He was known to travel hours just to be in attendance and show his support.
Joseph also enjoyed coin collecting, traveling, whist, Sudoku and dominos. His signature look for Patriots Sunday was his NE Patriot jersey always paired with his "old men rule" hat. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his adoring wife Marie. He leaves many happy memories to his children, Dianne and husband John Elwell, Joseph Tringali, Donna and husband Phil Wallace, Peter and wife Laura Tringali. 8 loving grandchildren, Jon Thomas Elwell, Alex Tringali, Victoria Wallace, Christopher Wallace, Nicholas Wallace, Sophia Tringali, Gianna Tringali, Isabella Tringali and great grandchild, John Robley Elwell.
