Obituary

Rose (Ciampa) Fratarcangeli age 72 of Stoneham passed on Saturday, March 14 at Massachusetts General Hospital. Peace is now hers after battling a heart condition which in the recent past had impacted her quality of life. All who knew Rose knew of her high energy and passion for life.

Born November 9, 1947 in a small town near Avellino, Italy, Rose is the loving daughter of the late Giuseppe Ciampa and Angelina (Parente) Ciampa. Rose is a thoughtful and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Rose is the beloved wife of Emilio Fratarcangeli. They were blessed with 48 years of a loving marriage and beautiful life together. She is the devoted mother of Michael Fratarcangeli and his wife Jennifer and Julie Fratarcangeli and her husband Mark Petree. The pride and joy of her life and the beginning of any conversation with her are her cherished grandchildren Daniel, Luke, Olivia, Emilie, Stella and Sloane. Rose is the loving sister of the late Sandra Ciampa and of Josephine Salamanca and her husband John. She is the caring aunt of Sandra and Gina Salamanca. She is also survived by many in-laws and nieces and nephews through her marriage to Emilio.

Rose was a dedicated employee of Massachusetts General Hospital for over 40 years. Her retirement in 2012 allowed her time to treasure her grandchildren and also care for her beloved mother, Angelina. Faith was an important part of her life. She was a devoted member of Saint Patrick's Parish. She delighted in spending winters in Naples, Florida with Emilio, playing golf, walking the beach and socializing with dear friends. Her time in Massachusetts was spent caring for her grandchildren, gardening, enjoying the outdoors, volunteering at the Greater Boston Stage Company and spending time with friends and family. When found with a spare afternoon, Rose would quickly escape to seek out the best bargains at the likes of Marshalls, TJ Max and her all-time favorite Frugal Fannies. With seemingly little effort, Rose was an excellent cook. Eggplant parmigiana was her signature dish and an all-time crowd pleaser.

All people who came into contact with Rose were quickly touched by her kindness, selflessness and joy of living. Her vibrant smile and the sparkle in her eye will be greatly missed.

At the request of the Family and in consideration of the health and well-being of her friends and family all services are private. The family will arrange a Memorial Service and a Celebration of Life for Rose at a later date.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Rose's memory to the American Heart Association www.heart.org
